This was one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar. My wife is tired of hearing it, especially when I sing it in Kermit’s voice. :D

That song was written by Paul Williams, better known as Little Enos Burdette in
Smokey and the Bandit
. I got a chance to perform with Paul Williams a few years ago. He was fantastic. A great songwriter, great showman, and he can still kick it. And yes, we played
Rainbow Connection.
